About the Principal Speaker : Maria J. Esteban is a director of research at the French CNRS (Centre national de recherche scientifique) and works at the University Paris-Dauphine. At present she is president of SMAI, the French society for applied and industrial mathematics and also the chair of the European Mathematical Society applied mathematics committee. Her main areas of expertise are the study of nonlinear partial differential equations, mainly with variational methods. In the past years she has worked intensely in relativistic quantum mechanics and its applications to quantum chemistry. Another scientific interest of hers is the study of fluid-structure interactions. |
About Lectures:
The lectures will be devoted to the spectral properties of operators with gaps and applications to the Dirac operator which is a basic model in Relativistic Quantum Mechanics. In addition, there will be preparatory lectures by others.

You can hire a City taxi or private taxi from Airport to TIFR , Yelahanka new town.
Landmark : Yelahanka new town Dairy Circle
* From Bangalore City Railway Station or Majestic Bus Stand (Distance 16km)
You can hire a City Taxi or Auto Rickshaw and ask drop for Yelahanka new town. The fare for City Taxi will be approximately Rs.400. For Auto Rickshaw fare will be approximately Rs.200.
You can also use BMTC Bus service to reach TIFR. You can board into following buses which comes to Yelahanka new town bus stand.
